Is your Business, Club or School HeartSafe & RescueReady?
Have one or more clearly visible, easily accessible Defibrillators installed on the premises and personnel educated on the location of these Defibs to become HeartSafe and RescueReady with Adopt-A-Defib.
Business, Clubs and Schools are awarded a HeartSafe magnet for the steel wall cabinet together with the use of our HeartSafe social media image.
One Hand Rule
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) should be part of the furniture in any public building – just like a fire extinguisher.
A Defib embedded in a cabinet on the wall of your workplace, club or school can mean the difference between life and death if someone collapses unexpectedly especially in the middle of a crowd.
At that moment when the AED is needed, access to it is critical. The rescuer must be able to utilise the ‘One Hand Rule.’ This is where grabbing the AED just requires one hand rather than both because of items in the way.
Don’t hide it. Sounds simple, right? It is. Yet, there are too many accounts of some organisations keeping them in locked offices or closets, behind other equipment, or even still in their original packaging.
“Where is the AED?!” During an emergency, this question can be a crucial one. With your mind racing and adrenaline pumping, it’s important to know where key items are located and stored at all times.
